Regarding a conversation I got into with my department secretary about fried chicken the other day…
If we are what we eat, and chickens eat grains and the like, does that mean it is vegan or vegetarian to eat chicken?
(Go go transitive property!)
Serious philosophy question is serious.

Of all the books I have sitting around my room waiting to be read, a Sanderson, two Gaiman, a Card, and a host of others, which am I most excited about?
The two cookbooks I just bought.
So, who wants to come by so I can cook for them?

This is beautiful, in the most raw, primal way.

“Kickin’ in the front seat, sittin’ in the back seat/Gotta make my mind up, which seat can I take?”
In this line, she is obviously hinting at things larger than a simply joy ride with some friends;…

Voice in Writing
As a writer, and as someone who tutored writing for a few years, I have had the opportunity to develop several voices in my own writing, and see the same thing with other writers. I’m not sure if I would call this code switching in writing, or simply a development of writers over time.
In my own person writing, I have observed three, maybe four distinct voices in my writing. Simply,...
