The Beauty of Belief

So, shoot, where have I been?

Life has been a bit crazy.  I finished up all my grad applications and had em all sent off and received and all that jazz, but I really kinda pushed that till the last minute, because I am a bad person like that.

After that, I jumped strait into the performances for the musical I have been working with.  I’m not acting, but I am pretty well the camera man and light operator.  I did theatre lighting once upon a time, so I kinda jumped at the chance to do it again.  I had to travel to the other side of the prefecture a couple times now in the last couple weeks… which isn’t too bad of a drive, providing that it isn’t blizzarding. But, since this is Niigata in winter, it snows all the freaking time.  So, it has mostly been snowing.

I had a weekend off after that, in which I got together with a bunch of the cast of the musical, and we basically had a 24 hour jam session of DnD.  We played one night, laid out our futons, played again after we woke up and had breakfast, haha.  It was pretty damn good.

Shortly after that I started to get sick (last wednesday), felt decent on Friday, and like I was hit by a goddamn snow plow on Saturday and Sunday.  I worked half of monday before my coworkers decided I was sick, and told my Kyoto sensei to send me home, haha.  I was out sick Tuesday and Wednesday, and finally got to go back to work today (Thursday).

And today… Man.  I got to work, found out I was teaching 3 classes, and that after lunch we were having an assembly.  So, after my first two classes, my head JTE says: Today, we are singing a song.
Me: Okay, with what class?
JTE: No classes.  You and I are singing at the assembly.
Me: wat.

So I basically had to do my best to learn this Carpenters song in the one hour I had off, and on the second half of my lunch break, so I wouldn’t be absolutely terrible.  But goddamn, we sang that song like a couple of drunken karaoke stars!

And now, I am heading to bed… Because I have a meeting tomorrow morning, then a full day of work… then the weekend!
