On a random aside, my friend and I have a running tally of who has the worst life in anime.

Regular runners are Guts from Berserk, Kurono Kei from Gantz, Edward Elric (a weak seed at best, in my opinion), and my personal favorite, Allen Walker from D.Gray-man.

And as these stories progress, each character seems to get these high redeeming moments of victory, even if the overall still has things bad.

Except Allen. 214 chapters in, and I think the last good thing to happen to Allen must have been around chapter 20.  The kid seriously cannot catch a break, and he is probably responsible for 80% of all the bad shit that happens to himself and everyone in the series, with the main villain account for maybe another 10%, and Allen’s allies account for the last 10%.  Okay, maybe those numbers are a bit skewed, but only because Allen’s allies probably fuck with him more than 10%.

Seriously.  I keep reading this story because I want to see Allen catch a break.  I don’t know if it is gonna happen.  I think the next good thing to happen to him will probably be his death, haha.
