My favorite bowl of ramen, from Kyo-ten in Ojiya!

I am sick, my head feels like it is going to explode, and all I want is a bowl of my favorite ramen from my favorite ramen shop, and it is on the other side of the world!
Argh!

I was out this evening, doing a bit of night photography.  Decided to take a shot of Ojiya!

Also, this is where I live :-)

But, the real reason for my trip was to try shooting fireflies!

Ojiya has a park that is famous for Fireflies in the early summer, and I took advantage of the nice weather this evening to try and capture them in photos!

I got there a little late, so maybe I will go back another night and try to get them when they are more active!

This was my first attempt to shoot fireflies at night, and I definitely learned a lot about night photography!

I was a busy little Firefly this evening!  I’m not happy with how blurry they are, but I am learning!

This last weekend I took a trip to Sado Island to visit some friends, and had a really great time!  Some photos as follows!

Information

I recently gained a few new followers, so I think a bit of an introduction is due.  Also, for my long time awesome followers, a refresher and update on my life!

Howdy!  My name is Mike! Hajimemashite!

My blog is mostly dedicated to philosophical thoughts and ramblings, with tendencies leaning towards literature and massively geeky things.  I’m fond of cats and foxes, and I tend to post things which are kind of weird.

I like poetry.  I am bad at poetry.  Sometimes, I post my bad poetry.  So, on the odd chance that I do post it, do enjoy, feel free to comment, and if you think it is shit, I cordially invite you to share your thoughts in a constructive manner; alternatively, you may suck an egg.

I also post about Japan.  No, I am not some weeaboo.  I live there, in Niigata prefecture.  So, you occasionally get my musing about living as a foreigner in a country where you don’t speak much of a language.  I have my own blog dedicated to that, so I try to avoid it on this one.

But, I am completely open to asks and questions, be it purposed or random.  In fact, I welcome it.  Anyone have any questions?  Anything?  I’d love to hear from you.

Forgive if I reply at odd hours… Its usually the next day where I am, haha.

Well everyone, take care, and enjoy my rambling!

Dozo yoroshiku onegaishimas!
